My mid term break ends today. It must end today!
Haven't started a weeny bit on studying for my papers which are gonna be right after the break. :l But really have been having loadsa fun these few days, just hanging out with my beloved friends and doing nothing much (: Prayer mtgs have been rather therapeutic. (:
I'm happy, really.
And my heart pounds with the thunder
And I stop and wonder
What should we do with life's surprises
Everyday the sun rises on us
Like a swing set in a graveyard
Like a bloom in the desert sands
Look at my trembling hands
Cos it hits me like a lightning
That love must keep fighting
And somehow, everytime
Love is gonna breakthrough.
Take a step back and count to 10.
Forgiveness comes with freedom. Forgiveness is possible because of love.
....Love keeps no record of when it has been wronged. It is never glad about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. 1 corinthians 13:5-7
Dear God, help me love like you would've.
"Dont be mad, get even." We've all heard or said that. Movies reflect the "get even" idea. We watch, cheering and yelling as the victim evens the score and the bad guys get what they deserve. We often live that way, too, sometimes, without even knowing it. We do or say things to get back at those whom we think have offended us.
Jonah, in the bible was like that. He was famous for being swallowed by a "great fish," ended up in that fish because of his "get even" attitude.
God told Jonah to go to Assyria (Israel's greatest enemy) and warn the people of Nineveh (the capital) to repent from their evil lifestyle or God would destroy them. But Jonah thought Assyria should be destroyed and he was afraid to go there, so he ran the other direction- straight to the fish. Finally Jonah cried out to God and was rescued, he obeyed and preached in Nineveh. In Jonah 4:1-2 Jonah revealed the reason for his reluctance to go to Ninevah. (1:3) He wanted the Ninevites destroyed, not forgiven.
"Dont get mad, get even." Fortunately, God doesn't work that way. Instead, He's "a gracious and compassionate God, slow to get angry and filled with unfailing love."
