I stand here, amazed, in awesome wonder. God has been indescribably good to me. I can't describe how I'm feeling so I shan't try. Haha Uploading the pictures brought tears to my eyes. I really miss the place, and above that, I'm overwhelmed by God's goodness, His majesty, His splendor, His love, everything about Him!
589 steps up to the Jesus statue. The view from there- mind blowing!
We travelled 7hours in a mini bus from Dili (the capital) to Lautem (Maupitine) on a really rocky road.
feet tanning!
From left: Patches, Algae, Mouldy (Which passed on the day before we left :'( ) and Fondue
Sis lily brought us on a 10mins walk and when we turned back all we saw were forests. If nobody took the risk to venture into the forests, the people of Maupitine would never hear of Someone who loves them so much, they would never find hope.
A big "thank you" to those who have donated generously. The children and adults there are really blessed and this post is actually to thank you guys and to show you how your little contribution have touched hundreds of lives (:
(I know the photos arent exactly in chronological order, but well.... I tried. Its alot of photos eh!)
Natalia's the girl in green :D I'd never forget how she pouted and waved reluctantly when we had to bid our goodbyes. Ahhhhhhh :'(
Fondue, which we're very fond of. Haha
Indeed, we were so incredibly focused and united when we were there! Now i really understand the power of unity. Its so precious, isn't it.
Greed. Haha
Awwwwww!
Our neighbours!
Nofie (: This girl's our team's sunshine. Although she's only 3, she has to pick candlenuts everday to earn some money for survival. Heart wrenching huh.
Where we lived (: Beautiful place, fresh air and cocks that have no sense of time. They're perpetually making noise at night even when its like not even daybreak yet! And you know what, they fly. They fly high. HAHAHHAHAHA. Poor dot.
The water point of which we've to walk to everyday to get water for cooking, bathing and what not. We wash only our hair there at the water point, dont worry. Haha. Its also where lil girls gather to do their family's laundry.
Within 5 mins. Can you imagine. Haha
Rinso!! and his big ouie! :l
Where we brushed our teeth, watched stars (and hallucinated, haha), and cooked.
Our missionary meal (: According to sis lily, its considered a luxurious meal to the people there. They usually eat rice, with two drops of oil and a pinch of salt to fill their stomachs. Talk about being blessed.
Where we slept (: and got our bruises on our tailbones and hipbones. Haha
White chickens tanning.
She's amazing! That bucket's seriously heavy. Its 20litres of water. WOAH, yes WOAH. She's my age but she's a mother. I'm way more blessed than she is. Way way way more.
We did children programmes where we taught them songs, played games, gave presents in 4 different villages. On top of that, we did a carnival for another village too!
The ground of the "multi purpose hall"s.
Friendship dance!
Dance practice for the Christmas concert (:
They built a stage from scratch!
Its really God's grace we're alive. Haha, 8 big ppl jumping on the shaky stage. Hahaha
This is their traditional costume! Pretty aye?
Wushu boys!
The concert was a great success. I'm still so amazed at how Eunice has taught these people how to dance so well and even to put up a big scale performance like this. I'm even more amazed at how God has made it possible cos it really seems like in my natural mind, it couldn't have been possible. Its times like that where you depend totally on God, that God never fails to show up to back you up (:
Being us.
UN office in Bacau.
Bacau church! God multiplied our money miraculously and we were able to bless the church there!
The 3 "shang hen lei lei" people. Haha. I had a bad fall, charis cut the sole of her leg and rinso burnt himself. Hahaha. (Dont believe what you see- me smiling. Haha, I cried like a baby when I thought I had to go for stitches. See, I'm honest. Haha)
We concluded at the end of the trip. We're really heavy. Twice throughout the trip the tire punctured, once the mini bus was stuck in the mud. Hahaha.
I wouldn't want to have spent this two weeks anywhere else, any other way. This trip really brought me so much closer to God, more than anything else. What a great way to end a year.
How can I stand here, and not be moved by You.
