Somehow I really do wish I was still 16. I remember the passion I used to have, how hard I used to fight for the things I held dear, the occasional times where I did crazy things recklessly and irresponsibly. Do I miss those days where life was carefree- when there were not much responsibilities to shoulder, or expectations of others I had to live up to. The feeling of having the legitimacy to make mistakes because I was "still young" and the freedom from public opinion were never thought of as privileges then... But now it seems all gone.
The greatest irony is that when we were young, we wanted so badly to go older; But now as we are growing old, we wished we never did. One thing remains the same: We pursue a freedom that's seemingly so unreachable. When we were young, we wanted freedom from the authorities over us. Now that we've grown older, we long for the freedom we didn't even know we possessed then. We always want the best of both worlds, don't we? (:
Perhaps it's only when the world sleeps, that I finally find rest.
